A Great Textbook

I really love this book. My professor can be a bit scattered, so a book this focused helps keep me on track. The book goes through major groups of viruses and the mechanisms through which they work. Very detailed but manages to stay interesting.
I've been reading some of the chapters that are not required for class. It's just that interesting.

Best book ever

I first came across this book when I studies for my Bachelor degree at the university of Toronto. We got to use the 2005 pre-publication version and I have been using it throughout my MSc studies and even PHD. I even use the old version now a days. I recommend this book for anyone who wants to have a good overview of any of the virus families.

Explains virology extremely well; great pictures. I used this book in undergrad & in grad school to reference virology questions I had. It's a good basic, starter book and a great reference.
